They fixed my daughter’s car after a catastrophic failure, passenger front wheel falling off. They did not align the tires after and refused to do so. We brought it to another shop who aligned the tires and said that this should have been standard service with the repair. I’m happy they fixed the initial problem, but no trust in the shop from this point on.

Sterling Automotive has been my go-to car shop since I moved to Bellingham six years ago. They always provide excellent service; speedy and transparent. I was in a Subaru, now drive a Honda. Zoe has gone above and beyond for my family and always been so kind and caring. I recommend this shop to anyone in the area needing a dependable and honest mechanic.

Was raining and my car wouldn’t start—it had been going great, then—nothing. I have triple A but for some reason couldn’t get a hold of them for a jump—I walked a block over to Sterling Automotive where Pat dropped what he was doing and gave my car a jump for free. Was really impressed with his generosity. He threw out a couple ideas of what could be wrong and got back to me the same day with quotes. Very helpful!

Edit: My issue may be unrelated to the work at Sterling. They did appear to resolve the DPFE/EGR sensor. I am revising my review to 4/5 and had a reasonably good experience with them.

I've been going to Sterling for years, have spent thousands, have been reasonably satisfied. I do believe these are nice folks. Unfortunately, I've had a really distasteful experience just recently and am therefore going elsewhere for my future auto service needs. I called to schedule a service appointment requesting three items be addressed: install new headlight assembly (with the new part that I provided), fix front passenger door lock that had stopped working (actuator replacement), and oil change, and I was given a quote for this work. During the work, they called me and told me that I also needed a new PCV valve which would add $173.39 to the cost, which I approved. When I went to pick up my vehicle, they hadn't addressed the door lock issue at all and said that they could offer me a quote for that. However, they had already quoted me for that, which is why my vehicle was there to begin with! In the end, they charged me the full amount without having replaced the actuator. As I look at other reviews, I see I'm not the first to have had this experience with Sterling. Lastly, when I called around about getting the door lock fixed elsewhere, it was much cheaper than the addition
